Spray paint it sunshine yellow

I’ve always thought of myself as “crafty.”  In the glue gun, stacks of fabric and spray paint kind of way not the sly, sneaky way.  I come by it honest from both my mama and Creator.  When I was a girl a sign hung in her sewing room that said, “She who dies with the most fabric wins.”

I think most women have an internal predisposition to create.  Our bodies are designed to not only create a completely new person, but protect and nurture the tiny promise before it is ready to be born.

For the last year and a half or so I haven’t felt that artist twinkle.  Maybe it was because I spent I huge part of 2011 “creating” a baby.  I like to think I was channeling all that creative power into making an extra special baby.

Then last week I found myself really wanting to buy a can of sunshine yellow spray paint.  It was like that color started a little fire inside my creative spirit.  Look at what I painted.

I found these candle holders at the consignment shop.  They were kind of an ash colored wood (think 80s southwestern décor.) But now, just look at them.  So happy.
