As a
mother, I feel like I’ve joined an amazing sisterhood. I feel more included and part of something
great than I have ever felt before. When
I decided to be stay at home mom, I thought I would feel alone and secluded but
I haven’t. I love this new community and
everything mom related: mommy blogger,
MOPS, Mother’s day, the mother’s room at church.
There is
an article in the local newspaper today profiling “Mommy Bloggers.” I am honored (and beside myself giddy) to be
included in a list of “local blogs to watch.”
I was even more excited when I saw I was in the company of Fontenot Four
and Mrs. Pate Writes.
Now, some people hate this term “Mommy Blogger”. They feel being labeled a mommy blogger implies
they only produce pictures of toddlers eating peas and terrible stories about
poop gone wrong. But I love the
term. I don’t let it pigeon hole my
writing. I define my mommy blog as a welcoming
place to find hope.
I became a mommy the minute that stick turned
pink and my mommy-ness will always come out in my writing. I aim to have the sweet, encouraging, loving
side of motherhood come across in my words and especially in my blog. We may not all be mothers but who doesn’t
just need a mama hug sometimes? I hope
everyone who visits me here at The Envelope Keeper leaves with what they came
looking for.
A laugh. A cry.
An “I’ve been there, too.” Or just
a hug.

This is adorable. I couldn't agree with you more. I blogged before my daughter came along and the topics were always shallow and never amounted to anything. After I found out we were expecting, mommy blogging took over my life! I even had to change my blog name....so I TOTALLY understand! :) Have a happy week!
