Thank you. Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for supporting Free the Girls. Thank you for supporting Mrs. Pate’s Blogger Bra Drive.
I mean it. I am so excited every time I think about the Facebook messages, emails and moments in the church hallway that ya’ll have used to bless me. The Ladies Night event at Midtown is only a week away and the response is growing every day. I can’t wait to see how many bras ya’ll bring. I have a feeling it is going to be mind blowing.
You know, this bra drive is Tiffany’s baby. She’s the one who told me about Free the Girls and when she talks about the good they are doing and the lives they are changing, you can see how fervent she is. She has found a cause her heart beats and breaks for. She has found her passion.
I, on the other hand, haven’t. I haven’t found the thing that keeps me up at night praying through tears, but I know God has a cause for me. He has my cause. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Eph. 2:10 NIV) See, He has already prepared it.
I’m asking Him to show me what it is. I’m looking around with my eyes wide open. I see a homeless man sleeping under the overpass. Is he my mission? I know right now there are parents in a hospital waiting room alone and scared. Are they my mission? A little girl without a family. Is she my mission?
So many needs in the world. So many hurting. But so many willing to bring good. I’m amazed at how the Lord has caused every heart to feel a burden for a different pain. We have to work together and support each other’s goods works, but we need to find the good work God has prepared in advance for each one of us. We don’t duplicate each other. I can’t do what you will do. You can’t do what I will do.
I’m on a search. I’ll let you know what I find. In fact, I’m sure I’ll be asking you for help!
