Please come join us. This week we were asked to describe a
room in
our house.
We live in a house HGTV would describe
as “cozy.” (Read: tiny.) But we are happy here and we like living in
such a snugly space. My favorite room
has got to be the nursery. For a lot of
reasons. First, it is finished. Second, it is super cute. And third, I made it for my sweet baby boy.
My mom
made all the bedding for the room. I couldn’t
find a bumper set I loved, so we found some receiving blankets that made me all
tingly and used them as inspiration.
We found
the tulle drape at IKEA and the little clouds go with the airplane theme in the
nursery (actually, our entire house has an “airplane theme.”)
We bought
this changing table at The Habitat Store downtown and Jason spray painted it. He bought the airplane picture off EBay a few
years ago. I love the way it looks in
this room.
The first
few days Ty was home, I slept in this chair with him in my arms. But we kept trying and it wasn’t long before
he was in the crib and I was back in the bed!
The
picture frames are still empty. Well,
the “Live, Laugh, Love” picture frames have the stock photos that they came
with. So they are not technically empty.
My mom thinks this is confusing for Ty
and he’ll think they are family.
This room is now scattered with toys and baby clothes in real life. But it is still a sweet place to spend time.
Really? You house has an airplane theme... Hmmm? :) Adorable!
