The Christian Mama’s Guide to Parenting a Toddler: A Book Review and Giveaway

A few weeks ago, I mentioned a funny book I stumbled across in Barnes and Noble.  Well, Erin MacPherson, the author of The Christian Mama’s Guide to Having a Baby, has done it again.  Actually, she’s done it three more times!  This week she is releasing three more books:  The Christian Mama’s Guide to Baby’s First Year, The Christian Mama’s Guide to Parenting a Toddler and The Christian Mama’s Guide to the First School Years.
I was lucky enough to read a copy of the toddler guide before it even hit the shelves and I have to tell you, I wasn’t disappointed.  She had me laughing, thinking and praying. I am right at the beginning of my journey parenting a toddler.  Ty is nineteen months old and he’s been showing his “personality” more and more. I’ve been feeding him, entertaining him and protecting him from the very beginning, but my role is changing.  I’m teaching him, correcting him and guiding him a lot more these days.
Erin’s book is not really a parenting philosophy, but more like a big sister’s collection of hints and tips.  She included some fun crafts and toddler friendly recipes along with some eye opening Biblical truths. Like this little nugget: my toddler needs Jesus.  His heart is sinful. I can parent to perfection, but that will not change the fact that Ty will need to become a new creature in Christ.  This revelation is scary and freedom giving all at the same time.  It’s not all up to me.  The only part I’m responsible for is to keep moving forward while making the best decisions I can.  The rest is up to Him.
Another great thing about Erin…She’s letting me giveaway a copy of The Christian Mama’s Guide to Parenting a Toddler.  You can enter below.
PS We follow the Babywise books when it comes to parenting philosophies.

That sounds fun! I have three kids in three different stages, including one dynamite toddler ;-) I can use some lighthearted encouragement anytime.
